Trees
Anchor Your Landscape!
Trees are the superstars of the landscape--they influence how we see, interpret and move through a space. In general, trees can be grouped into two categories: evergreen and deciduous. For ease of browsing, we've also made a category for trees that produce showy blooms.
Evergreen trees keep their foliage all year long, making them perfect for screening out any unwanted views. Many people plant evergreen trees on the borders of their property to act as a living fence, enclosing the yard for a more private, enchanting ambiance. In the winter, evergreens stand out in the landscape, reminding you that life is still thriving in the cold.
Deciduous trees are the divas of the landscape, putting on their dramatic foliage show each Fall. You can find species that change from their standard green to yellow, orange, red, purple, or in some cases, brown. During Spring and Summer, our native deciduous trees unfurl their canopies, acting like umbrellas in your landscape. Depending on their growth structure, a deciduous tree can be a "shade tree" or a "specimen tree". Many species, like Dogwoods, Redbuds and Buckeyes, feature incredible showy floral displays in Spring and early Summer, creating an absolute destination for local pollinators.
We have trees for every type of soil, water and light exposure. To get a better feel for each species, simply click on a plant below to read their growing requirements, FAQ's, pollinators and more!
